Flame Retardant Polycarbonate Sheet
B1 rated, ignition point 580 °C, self-extinguishing, no toxic smoke — for rail, public interiors and guarding.
Battery module barriers and electrical insulation — flame retardant, dimensionally stable, machined to drawing.
Battery energy storage puts three demands on a plastic part at once: it must insulate electrically, it must not propagate a fire, and it must hold its dimensions in a hot, vibrating enclosure. Polycarbonate does all three, which is why it appears throughout module construction.
For this work we supply flame-retardant grades compounded from V0 resin rather than surface-treated sheet, machined to drawing on our CNC centres.

| Property | Specification |
|---|---|
| Fire rating | B1 standard; V0 compounded grades available |
| Ignition point | 580 °C, self-extinguishing, no toxic gas |
| Service temperature | −40 °C to 120 °C |
| Electrical | Insulating; dielectric data available on request |
| Machining | CNC to ±0.1 mm from your DXF, DWG or STEP files |
| Thickness | 0.5 mm – 15 mm |
This grade ships from 100 m² or 1 tonne — a trial pallet, not a full container. Standard sizes and stock colours run in 7–10 days; non-standard thickness or width in 12–18 days; add 3–7 days for CNC cut-to-size work. Quoted in USD on FOB, CIF or DDP terms. Yes, compounded from V0 resin so the rating runs through the thickness. Surface-treated flame retardancy is not appropriate for this application.
Both. For battery work most customers order finished parts — send DXF, DWG or STEP and we quote the machined component.
Tell us which standard your programme is assessed against and we will confirm what material certification and test data we can supply before you order.
