Acrylic Splashback Sheet

Sheet for splashback fabricators — coloured, mirror and printable grades, cut to size before it ships.

We supply splashback fabricators and distributors, not homeowners — we are a factory in China and we do not sell single panels or measure kitchens. If you cut, print or resell splashbacks, this page is about the sheet behind them.

Acrylic took this market from glass for straightforward reasons: it is half the weight, a fitter can cut it on site with ordinary tools, it will not shatter during installation, and it comes in any colour without a separate back-painting operation.

Specification

Property Specification
Typical thickness 3 mm domestic, 4–6 mm commercial and large panels
Sheet sizes 1220 × 2440 mm and 1830 × 2440 mm; cut to size to order
Finishes Gloss both faces; one-side matte on request
Colours Full colour range, plus white, black and mirror; matched to RAL or sample
Heat limit Not for direct contact behind gas hobs — see below
Cut tolerance ±0.1 mm on CNC cut panels

The heat limit — tell your customers before they find out

Acrylic softens around 80–100 °C. Behind an electric or induction hob that is never reached. Directly behind a gas burner it can be, and a warped or discoloured panel is a warranty claim you will pay for.

Standard trade practice is a stainless or toughened glass insert directly behind a gas hob with acrylic across the rest of the run. We would rather you build that into your quote than discover it after installation. If your market is predominantly gas, say so and we will discuss whether polycarbonate or a higher-temperature construction suits you better.

Grades that sell as splashbacks

Grade Sold as
Solid coloured The volume product — colour runs through, so a scratch does not show white
High-gloss white and black The two highest-turnover colours by a wide margin
Mirror Premium line; specify edge sealing where it meets a worktop
Clear For printed and back-painted splashbacks produced in your own shop
Frosted Bathroom and utility applications where gloss shows every mark

Colour through the full thickness is the selling point against back-painted glass: a chipped edge or a drilled socket cut-out shows the same colour rather than a white core.

Cut to size beats shipping full sheets

Splashbacks are non-modular by nature — every kitchen is a different length with different socket cut-outs. Breaking down 1220 × 2440 mm sheet into splashback runs typically wastes 15–20% of the material.

Send us the cutting schedule and we nest and cut at the factory. You pay freight only on panels you sell, and your fitters stop making dust on site. Socket and switch cut-outs can be machined at the same time — see cut to size.

Minimum order and lead time

This grade ships from 100 m² or 1 tonne — a trial pallet, not a full container. Standard sizes and stock colours run in 7–10 days; non-standard thickness or width in 12–18 days; add 3–7 days for CNC cut-to-size work. Quoted in USD on FOB, CIF or DDP terms. Questions buyers ask

Can acrylic splashbacks go behind a gas hob?

Not in direct contact with the flame area. Acrylic softens around 80–100 °C. Use a stainless or toughened glass insert behind the burners and acrylic for the rest of the run. Behind electric and induction hobs there is no issue.

Do you sell single splashbacks to end customers?

No. We are a manufacturer supplying fabricators, distributors and trade buyers, with a minimum of 100 m² or 1 tonne. We do not sell single panels or offer a measuring service.

What thickness should a splashback be?

3 mm is standard for domestic panels bonded to a flat wall. Move to 4–6 mm for long runs, commercial installations, or where the panel is mechanically fixed rather than bonded.

Can you print onto the sheet?

We supply clear and white sheet for printing rather than printing it ourselves. Most splashback businesses print in-house because artwork changes per order.
